Parashurama Jayanti

Parashurama Jayanti.

Falls on Tritiya (third day) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh. This day is also known as Akshaya Tritiya and the day is considered good to start or do anything auspicious. It believed that any puja performed on this day gives hundred times more results than other days and it is applicable for any kind of donation.

Today is Parashurama Jayanthi. Parashurama is  the ultimate Guru of all Martial Arts and an immortal.  He is considered an Avathara of Vishnu. He is a Brahmin and the son of Jamadagni Maharishi (who was not one of the Saptha Rishis as is often claimed) and Renukamba. When still a boy, he was ordered by his father to behead his mother for suspected infidelity, which he did. When his father granted him a boon, he asked for his mother back, which was granted. Because of this execution, the axe (Parashu) has come to be his symbol though he was, in reality, the master of all Shastras, and the bow and arrows as well as the sword were his favourite weapons.

According to the Puranas, Karthyavaeeryarjuna, a King who was the incarnation of Vishnu's Sudarshana began to tyrannize the World, threw the Aryan Constitution and Laws into the void, became a law unto himself like an Asura and led the Kshatriyas (the warrior and ruling class) into an orgy of debauchery, looting, slavery and so on (Like Moslems). This brought him into direct conflict with the Brahmins who were the custodians of righteous law or Dharma. The Kshatriyas began to use their physical force to massacre Brahmin men and rape Brahmin women as retribution for opposing their rule. Parashurama then took up arms against the Kshatriyas (including his own students) and led his Brahmin students to slaughter 21 generations of Kshatriyas in reprisal.

According to the Ramayana (Valmiki's) , Parashurama would never attack Kshatriya women or widow them at their marriage. This is why Dasharatha (Rama's father)  and many other Kshatryas had so many wives. Every time Parasurama came by, the Prince would marry to survive without fighting, Parashurama was defeated by  Rama after he gained the bow of Shiva which Shiva had abandoned in disgust after losing a duel to Vishnu and which Sita's father Janaka had preserved and no mortal before Rama could bend and string.

According to the Tripura Rahasya, Parashurama after being defeated by Rama and surrendering everything including Bharatha Varsha to Rama, was dejected and wandered in the North East when he came upon Dattattreya at Kamakhya where he was initiated into Shri Vidya by Dattatreya who asked him to go to the South West and there request Varuna to cede him territory for his own and there continue his life as, being an immortal, he had to continue his duty for this Kalpa. Parashurama came and asked Varuna for land. Varuna asked him to shoot his arrow as far as he could into the sea and ceded the land from the point where the arrow landed to Parashurama. This is why the land to the West of the Western Ghats and the Western Ghats are known as Parashurama Kshetra and the people of this land still worship and offer prayers to the almighty despite the persecution of the Indian Republic and the Periyar-Ambedkar-Nehru-Gandhi-Imported Religions-Communist (Pangolin) Consensus that has usurped it, This land was never part of Bharatha Varsha that was ceded to Rama by Parashurama. Shri Vidya Tantra and the Shree Chakra Yantra is still very popular at the many Mathas, Temples and Ashramas that dot this land scape. The vibrations of the Shree Vidya Mantra are heard at their purest and  most powerful here, followed by the various Shakthi Peethas.

According to the Mahabharatha (Vyasa's) , Karna (a Kshatriya) employed a subterfuge and claimed to be a Brahmin to enter Parashurama's Guru Kula after he had been turned down by Parashurama's shishya Dronacharya and became Parashurama's favourite pupil and mastered all the Shastras to become the most accomplished in martial arts in his time. However, he was discovered as he bore the pain of a  borer insect that began to attack him rather than move and disturb Parashurama who was sleeping with his head on Karna's lap. Karna's subterfuge was discovered as only a hereditary and pure Khsatriya would have been capable of such ability to bear pain as well as such feudal devotion. Parashurama banished him for deceiving him and cursed him that though he was unbeatable and Parashurama's greatest Pupil in martial arts, his Mantra Sidhi and skills would fail him at a critical moment. So it was that Karna was unable to invoke the weapons and fell to Arjuna at Krurkshetra with the help of Krishna's customary deception, even though he had conquered the entire World for his benefactor Duryodhana.
