Dynasties that have ruled India in the last thousand years

#FACTMuseum has painstakingly created a graph of the dynasties that have ruled India in the last thousand years from 1000 AD to the present day. The horizontal axis is the time period and the vertical axis is for the various regions of Bharath. The size of each block corresponds to the relative importance of the ruler.

Notice how there are dozens of indigenous dynasties and some pretty significant ones, but how much of them did your history books teach you? ALMOST NOTHING!

Just as we have highlighted and made the #Mughal and the #British font sizes larger and the color darker so that your attention only goes to them, the text books also did the same and ensured that most Indians don't know of the dozens of other dynasties, and only hear about the #Mughals and the #British

Why the disproportionate coverage? What was the agenda?

These are important questions each of us should be asking ourselves, to do the course corrections of the Indian history being taught!
