NAME: Vaidyanath (Lord who acts as Vaidya/doctor to heal us.)
LOCATION: Deoghar, Jharkand surrounded by 21 temples.
ORIGINALLY BUILT BY: King Ravan of Lanka.
BRIEF HISTORY: Legend says that Ravan did Ughra Tapasya (Severe penances) to please Mahadev ji and offered his head/ten heads as an offering to Lord in the end. Lord himself appeared as a "Vaidya" and healed him and granted Jyotirling to Ravan. Though his plan was to take the same to Lanka, en route he was was interrupted by Ganesh ji and was compelled to install the Jyotirling in Deoghar according to his vow to install it at the place where he ends or break the journey.

Poorvottare prajwalikanidhane sada vasantam Girijasametam
